Johnna,Kim&Marius
Hello, Johnna!
Thank you for your offer to answer questions! Last year and preschool were
so much easier! I may take you up on you it sometime, if it doesn’t get
worked out pretty soon!
I know this is early to think about, but did you have problems once he was
promoted from the elementary school? Just wondered.

Hi, Kim! We have had conferences with the teacher, cafeteria, nurse (who is
only there allegedly 3 times a week, so far, it’s only been once), and the
principal. Last year, in kindergarten, my son and I wrote a book about what
all he has to do and why. He drew the pictures and it was really an ice
breaker for his class. He even read it to some other grades. This year, he
again read his book and most of the kids already knew, but they had more
questions for him. It worked out pretty well.
Our problem has been the principal, who believes testing and a snack takes
too much time away from class participation. She wants us to put him on the
pump ASAP, to keep him in class. She just doesn’t understand, that’s all
there is to it. she knows how she wants it to be and doesn’t want bothered
with anything else. She gave me a whole 1 1/2 days to “regulate” him to his
new school schedule and had a “cow” about him checking his sugar a couple of
extra “unscheduled” times the first 2 days.
It has been very stressful and I don’t know how it’s going to turn out, but
for the past few days, it’s calmed down. I’m praying it stays that way!!

Hi, Marius! I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope that
everything will work out. Maybe someone has an idea about how to let your
colleagues know what to do. Unfortunately, there are MANY people out there
who could care less about diabetes and what it does to a person. I hope
your day is a great one!

I really hope it didn’t miss anyone, I am on digest and it was kinda hard to
get through. I may switch over so it’s easier to read! You all have a
super day and take care!

And who the heck does that principal think she is…….his doctor or parent?
She has NO business telling you he should be on the pump. Maybe the “COW” she
had should kick her in the butt!…I’m sorry but she has my blood boiling.
What would she do if this was her child???????
Hoping to Cool Down Now!
