ATTN: Laura Fleagle,
Wouldn’t 3+ ketones in T-2 Marius’ urine be a forerunner to DKA then if
untreated to possible coma? Set me straight. 8^ )

I’ve had to wee-wee in a bottle and the Doc told me that I have
+++ keychains in my urine. Also heard that nightmares are
indications of possible night hypo’s.

Well DKA is pretty much a type 1 phenomenon, though from what I understand
it does occasionally occur in type 2’s as well. What did the doc say
regarding this?? I’d definitely talk to him/her ASAP.

NOTICE his post was 9/17!!! He’s heading for major trouble. Sounds like he
sat there while dr. told him. SOME doc.!!

So the doc just gave him the results but didn’t tell him what they meant??
(sorry…I’ve been deleting a lot of msg’s lately - lot of list traffic,
not a lot of time - so I haven’t been following the discussion too
closely). But anyway, yeah - some doc.
Anyway, some signs of DKA include vomiting, shortness of breath, “fruity”
odor on the breath, weakness, extreme thirst/urination, etc. If he (or
anyone on this list for that matter), starts seeing these signs - check
your urine for ketones and/or just get to an emergency room.
