My Doctor Visit

Saturday, November 22nd, 2003

Hey everyone, Just wanted to drop a post and let you guys know how much I
appreciate this list. I went to the doctor on Friday and because of a past
bad experience with the last doctor I had was a little nervous about going to
this one because my bgs are steadily climbing. The old doctor would have put
me down and blamed it on me no matter how hard I tried. The new one sits in
a chair beside me and says ok lets go over everything going on with you and
see what we can do to make things work right. His attitude is so wonderful
and he truly cares about me. I just keep a sinus infection and of course I
had one when I went in so he gave me some stuff to help with that. He did
increase my glucopage by 500mg. But our goal is to eliminate the insulin
shots all together. I asked about the low carb he was really cool with that
also. Just said to be careful on to much fat and we sat down and figured out
how many grams of fat and carbs for me to take in a day. The doctor really
does make a difference you guys. My last doctor just said take two aspirin
and call me in the morning. This one says go and get your blood work and I

kids and I waited 15 min and it is now 54….my girlfriend is going to bring
orange juice and a candy bar. I will try the juice and wait 15 min again.
This is the right way to go right??

Counseling

Saturday, November 15th, 2003

From: Gail Darling <uvwxyz74@…
I (+we) have seen 5 pastors, 2 psychiatrists, 4 medical doctors, and 2
pastors’ wives. Most alone. As I’ve stated before, we are 3-part beings:
spiritual, physical, and emotional. The same as the tripod of diabetes
(diet, medication, exercise); if one is off, it unbalances the other 2. We
have not found a counselor who believes the way we do, knows the workings
and ramifications of diabetes, and the emotions. Two out of 3 ain’t bad –
well, yes it is. The tripod is off. We may find someone who knows the
scriptures and emotions but without the diabetes part, it is no go. As in
everything else, it’s always MY fault: MY diabetes is the problem. All the
answers are easy - oops, that’s right, there’s diabetes involved. (One
person said, “What’s that have anything to do with it?) If it weren’t for
me no one else would have their situation. I’m self-centered and this
monster keeps popping its ugly head that they don’t want to be aware of or
hear about.

HELP

Friday, November 14th, 2003

Can someone please help me with some info.
I would like to create a spreadsheet with a graph for a daily BG
reading over a period of a month.
I would like to know what should be entered and the hours, eg
every 4 hours or 6 or 12. Also, the minimum and maximum reading
for the American standard.
Suggestions will be appreciated.
Marius

Chat - Great Balls of Fire!

Friday, November 7th, 2003

Christine,
I still don’t know what caused the power problems. Thankfully I only saw some
blue light reflections instead of the fire balls. The power line broke and was
laying in the ditch. I don’t know which came first, the chicken or the egg <G
excuse me, I mean the fire balls or the broken power line. Hubby was very
bored,
kept trying to use the remote to change the candles! We didn’t get our power
back on until after 10:30 last night.

Voting

Friday, November 7th, 2003

I have just received a message from another mailing list, a lady
Bonnie is asking for subscribers to vote for a cat named SUGAR at
a pet contest.
I’m sorry, my diabetic conscience does not allow that, maybe if I
suggest that they rename the moggie Phenylketonurics or maybe
Saccharin, or even Aspartame, Candarel?
What would you suggest Iris??
With a cat named SUGAR, you should name your dog INSULIN…
