Endo Visit

Thanks for the doctor directory, but you can quit worrying, we saw the
pediatric endo this morning (the one that couldn’t see us until the end of
November fit us in)
It was a great visit, lots more support than we got at diagnosis. We were
there for 3 hours, saw a nutritionist, diabetes educator, the doctor, and
even a social worker! This doc is a type 1 himself, wears a pump, and is so
on top of things. I felt like a big burden was lifted off my shoulders.
They did a HbA1c and it was 5.4! He said that Brad’s bg’s are running too
low so he lowered his insulin doses to 3 units at breakfast and 1 unit at
dinner. I thought his bg’s were running okay, and have panicked when they get
above 150. The nutritionist said for an active 9 year old kid they like to
keep them in the 100-200 range. Doesn’t this seem awfully high???? He doesn’t
know why Brad is on so low dose of insulin, but wondered if he is really
diabetic. I told him that the antibody tests were done in Arkansas and he is
