About 2 hours ago a gal from my club called and wanted to know if a
meeting was this week (2nd & 4th Thurs). Yes. She said, “I’m to be
Toastmaster aren’t I?” I didn’t know. She said, “Yes, I am what should I
do?” I said, “Well, you haven’t been to the last 3-4 meetings.” She said
she’s busy with her job. (She’s had assignments but doesn’t come and doesn’t
let us know). I said I was busy too and had unplanned events; that she
should do the stuff a Toastmaster is supposed to do (one of the regular
assignments = emcee the group) and come Thursday. She said, “It’s a
volunteer organization!” and hung up on me. !!! I GET NO PAY EITHER!!
When she was president of the club she didn’t show up and I had to take
over; when she was Vice President of Education (a major office) she didn’t
show up and I had to take over; when she was one of my Area Governors she

didn’t do what she was supposed to do and I had to fill in for her. This
year she is v.p. membership and is supposed to send cards to thank visitors
for coming. She has not done any so far and I haven’t done it either. She
just doesn’t show up - doesn’t tell anyone - and it leaves the meeting
scrounging around to get fill ins. Arrrrgggghhhh. We were the #1 club in
our Division last year — mostly because I wore my tail off! (it’s not
skinny though)
I’m ready for TOMORROW and get rid of today! 8^ (
