Does anyone know if there are programs in the USA to help people who can't
afford their meds get them through some kind of charity? An e-pal of mine
was just diagnosed with Type II and she is afraid she can't afford the
meds. I'm hoping for her sake she'll be able to control it through diet
alone.
Iris,
Tell your friend to ask her doctor if he knows of any clinics that go on a
sliding scale according to income. That is where I am going and I pay
nothing. The clinic supplies the medical services and has enrolled me in an
Indigent Drug program. I don't know if I spelled that right. The drug
companies supply drugs to patients that otherwise could not afford them. I
get all my meds from them for three months and then I have to fill out the
<!--more-->
request form again for the next three months. It is a great relief knowing I
don't have to pay for them myself.
