How does one plan a quiet week? I always plan it, but the best laid plans
often go awry (Shakespeare). My back (from my fall, that is) is doing great.
When that bladder infection started I have been awakened about 3:00 each
morning with pains in my side/back (didn’t wanna say backside to confuse
Marius). I roll over to get relief and none. I’m in pain for a couple of
hours. This a.m. I dampened a handtowel, put it in a zipper-type bag and
nuked it for 22 secs. Laid on it and was able to get rest then. I tossed a
cookie after getting up. Probably ’cause the antibiotic I’m taking says to
take w/food or milk. I had about 3.5 ozs milk and probably wasn’t enough 8^
(
I felt absolutely lousy until about 2:00 p.m. Feel pretty decent now. I’m
just a baby - have my days and nights mixed up and Marius expects me to keep
up with his schedule. I was able to get in a transplant chat last night (no
e-mail) and learned I may be too old for pancreas - the limit for some is
45 - others 55 (I’m 60). But possibly no age limit for kidney. They’re
strongly URGING me to get evaluated and listed NOW. Say I’m qualifying for
ESRD (end stage renal disease). Told them I look healthy as a horse and
feel like I’ve been kicked by a mule. They said that goes with it. Wouldn’t
that be something if when I celebrate my 50th anniversary of this on 11/4/00
that I won’t be a diabetic due to tx?!!
Son is progressing well. Thank you for asking.

Jan, I did not know there was a age limit to who can qualify for a
transplant. You still need to check into that and do as they say and get
evaluated and listed now. I am so glad your son is doing better. He is so
much a PTL it can’t even tell how much he is………
As far as having a quiet week. Jonathan my son is working and going to
school so he pretty much just sleeps here, lol, and Mike had to go to
Brownsville TX and Mexico this week so he is gone for the week. I am by
myself. Of course Mom and Dad and my brother live next to me. But I am
cleanning my house. I will have a pampered chef party on Thurs nite. So I
am chillin and cleanning and doing paper work for my Creative Memories
business and doing and eating what I want. (of course this consist of what I
can have.) And resting in-between. It is hard to weeks like that and even
though I say that is how the week will go it doesn’t mean it won’t change.
