Veterans’ Day
Iris,
We citizens of the USA mark 11:00 a.m. on 11/11 as Veterans Day. Now. It was
Armistice Day, but it was decided to honor ALL veterans of foreign wars –
not just the 2 Big Ones. When I was in school we had to stand at our desks,
face the east, place our right hands over our hearts and listen while a lone
trumpeter played Taps. It was a moving and memorable thing. NOWADAYS, the
kids are out of school all day and don’t have a clue as to why!!!! It’s
another paid vacation day for the teachers.

lol…not for this teacher. The only people I know who get Veterans’ Day
off are government employees. I try to remember to personally thank all
the veterans I know for their service on that day.

It’s a day off for northern Indiana. School systems must have different
contracts.

Yes, it is another paid vacation day for a lot of people but that day I
get to work a full 8 hrs instead of 5. I do not look forward to having
85 kids around me all day. That means Friday I will have to rest. I can
hardly wait…..
Thanks Connie for the card. It was so sweet. I can not remember when I
jumped rope last but figuratively I guess we all have for a few years.
Sounds like you are feeling better.
Christine…are you still happy or are your kids ready for you to light
up again? I hope the pill works for you. Did you check into any
activity on your side of the state for diabetic awareness? Remember you
can always come to our side.
Hi Gail….are the antibodies working for you? I will continue to keep
you in my daily thoughts and prayers.

Hi Jan, It looks like your life is coming together….son has really
done great. Your advice is always appreciated.

hugs are flying our way. It is so hard to always be up and it is nice to
hang on to all the support out there.
