house sitting & crime
But house sitting is quite a lucrative business here. There is a lot of
crime. Some people make a living (housing) by only house sitting. I grew up
at a time where we NEVER locked our doors for anything. In fact, we went to
Traverse City, Michigan in 1954 with a brand-new Chevy 220. I was 13. It was
cherry picking season and migrants were there. We were in a restaurant and
Mom asked my stepfather if he would go out and lock the car doors. He came
back in and said he also left the windows rolled down because it was so hot
out. 8^D !!
We have neighbors who have alarm systems, etc. Video cameras are in almost
all establishments, etc.
It’s probably not like SA, but we DO have a lot of crime. That’s why Clinton
was praised so highly for putting 100,000 more cops on the streets (less
than 1 per city) to reduce the crime. Sounds good. When will it go lower?
