PICS & feet

Connie,
Thanks for doing for me what I should know how to do. You have made us
international faces!
Marius was supposed to be back today. Hope his mom is okay. He may have been
called back to the hospital.
I found out today that on Wed. 12/1 I will have surgery on my heel spur. It is
so painful to walk sometimes and footologist says the new arthroscopic procedure
should take care of it. I will have a walking cast and he hopes the heel will
heal quickly - my HbA1c has been 6.9 and that will help. Oh, joy!!

    Patient Jan,
I am sure you are going to be very glad you had the surgery. my sister
suffers so from her heel spur. She can’t wait until after the holidays for
her surgery. That is an awesome HbA1c!

    Jan,
You said that you had to have surgery Dec. 1 and you will have to
have a cast. I know that healing can be hard and with a cast you can not
see what the skin looks like. When I had to have a cast last year they
did not want to use a regular cast and they put a air cast on it so it
was taken off at night and have the skin checked daily. It would be put
on with special protective cushions and then velro strips closed it.
After it was in the right position you would pump it up with an internal
pump. It would take all the extra slack out of the material and hold
your leg in place. It had a rocker soul to protect you when you walk. I
really was pleased because for the 2 months I had to wear it there was no
redness or sores formed. It was a lot more comfortable than the old
fashion kind. It also allowed me to put lotion on my skin each day.
Maybe you can ask about this type of cast. Also I did get to see the
pictures that Connie sent. It sure is fun to see who you are talking to.

I wish that I could figure out how to shrink the pictures down to jpg.
so that I could send some on my email. Does anyone know how to do it.
