Marius’ business venture

===JAN: Marius, you are so talented that I do think it’s a waste that your
artistry is not a gainful employment. Perhaps this is your transition. Do
you have business training so you can succeed financially. My mind always
goes to cross cultures. In USA there are a lot of requirements, taxes,
licenses, taxes, etc. You said on another post that Wendy cuts them by hand.
3000!!!!!? And more coming? Wish I could send you a Trimmer. It’s a cutting
board (i.e. paper cutter) but about a foot square. No, it would be nice for
you to have two.
Maybe someone out there has connections and could get a Staples, Office
Max,
or Office Depot to do that. Your address used to be printed at the end of
each post. I LIKE your marketing ploy: make them their
own card and give them a sample.
===JAN: DOUBLE?? Keep an eye on that, E-pal.

Jan, I’ve heard a lot of people say that I waste my talents but I
HAVE to be in the mood, otherwise it’s no use doing it.
I have no business training but am willing to go for it, we want to
convert one bedroom into an “office / PC room”.
Wendy has cut about 800 cards so far and it’s no joke doing it!!
We want to invest in a trimmer which cost about R400-00, it will
save a lot of time. The vinyl coating is also very time consuming
and if it’s not very carefully and properly done then a whole sheet of
    ten cards are spoiled.
We had somebody at a stationery shop doing our cutting….ONCE
ONLY!!! He took about fifty sheets (500 cards), lined them up and
used an industrial guillotine to cut them….never lined them up
correctly and we had to reject all 500cards and reprint them!!!
Since then we do it by hand, it’s slower but we take no chances
anymore. I have also found out how to coat faster by using a ruler,

    we learn more every day.
This isn’t just a mom & pop business, it’s mom, pop, daughter and
dog. Merredy and the dog does the quality control!!

Yep, you are truly a melancholic temperament. Gotta be done right - and if
it’s going to be done right, do it yourself.
