Hi - again :)

This really has turned into a great list!
I was on this list for about a year or so,
but had to quit because I was moving.
I only took about half a year before I
was back, and even in that short
time I can see the activity has
got higher. *smiling* Reading what
I just wrote make me wish I had
a dictionary here. But as long
you understand most of it :))
I have been so lucky to catch
this bad flue, so I’m sitting
here with ton’s of paper on the
right side of me, and the books
at my left side. Going to

My mom, an old age pensioner of 77 had a heart attack on Sunday
14th Nov. That same night, a member of the Port Shepstone
Provincial Hospital nursing staff removed a diamond ring off her
finger. My mother was semi conscious and when she asked her
what she was doing, the reply came that they had to remove her
rings to take x-rays of her chest. Needless to say that she never
saw the ring again and the guilty person denied ever being near her
despite my mother being able to identify her.

I will make sure that my friends abroad get to hear what a
“hospitable” country this has become.

personality / surgery

Christine,
My hugsband is getting the hang of it - but he’s out on the road. It’s kind
of hard to shake him up. It sounds like you know the phlegmatic temperament.
I heard it put another way years ago: The Peter Pan Syndrome. Each character
is a temperament. PP never wants to grow up and take responsibility; Wendy
is the mother figure who takes over; etc.
Son is 37.5 and 169 mi. away and, well, I’m Mom and as far as he is
concerned the same as it was growing up. He has his own life and
surroundings to deal with. I woke up at 6:30 and now I’m worrying. I have
that heel surgery tomorrow - and that does involve cutting my foot. I’m
alone but a couple from church is going to take me to get it done. We just
changed churches in March and don’t know a lot of people. I know this couple
(in 70s) from when I was a teen and they worked with Youth Dept. at another
church. But when I come home I’ll have pain, probably pills that will put me
to sleep, etc. How am I going to get what I need — something to drink, ice

Shelia,
Your nephew is making a joyful noise, even if it isn’t a pretty noise!
Sounds like a night filled with blessings. :~)

Ms Iris is TIRED. Ms Iris works hard. My bgs are doing okay except that
for some unknown reason they’re almost always high in the mid-afternoon. I
test at 10:00 am, noon and 2:00 pm when I’m at work. Noon BG was 6.8
(around 120-ish) and I ate a ham sandwich and some instant miso soup for
lunch. Then by afternoon coffee break, my BG was 16! (approx 320). The
last couple of days I’ve been taking a small amount of Regular before
lunch - think I’ll have to keep doing that.
Tired iris
Tired Iris,
It does take a while to get used to working again! I don’t know much about
Insulin but it is ok to take more when your BG is up, right? That is why
testing often is important for Type I. I think I have that info right.:~)

‘Twas the Night of after Thanksgiving

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2005

With apologies to Clement C. Moore, author of
A Visit From St. Nicholas (’Twas the Night Before Christmas)
‘Twas the night after Thanksgiving, But I just couldn’t sleep.
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep
The leftovers beckoned — The dark meat and white,
But I fought the temptation with all of my might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation
The thought of a snack became infatuation.
So I raced to the kitchen, Flung open the door,
And gazed at the fridge full of goodies galore.
I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
Till all of a sudden, I rose off the ground !!
I crashed through the ceiling. Floating into the sky….

bad news

Big bomb explosion in a Cape Town restaurant, scores of injured
including a 16 year old girl that lost a leg.
The bomb was condemned by the ANC government as a cowardly
attack on innocents by terrorists, a case of the pot calling the
kettle black as they themselves had planted thousands of bombs
during white rule killing children and women and then called
themselves “freedom fighters”
Last year ONLY 80 bombs exploded in the Cape area.
Another bus accident involving two buses, six dead.

personality test

Cheerful, Understanding Christine,
Yeah, mine was pretty much right on. However, Hubby’s was wayyy off. There
are some Q’s that don’t have a good choice for an answer. Perhaps if he’d
left those blank, his category would have been greatly affected. ;) Cautious, loyal, Jan
attention! This is the only part I would like to agree with….it is how I
see myself. I hope others see me like this!!!
