foot report
Thanks, Christine,
Saw the endo first. He encouraged me to pursue a kidney/pancreas transplant.
Things won’t get better with me, only worse and kidneys are now at 23%. He
said chances are better when you get a simultaneous K/P tx than just a
kidney — many are waiting on that.
Footologist said I will probably have pain for a loooong time but not as
severe as before surgery. 8^( He also signed papers for me to get a
PERMANENT handicap card(s) - since permanent, they were no charge. I’ll show
HIM!! I’m going to not need them later. I go back Monday to get stitches
removed. Sure wish it had been my other foot — but you know about the guy
with the withered hand who prayed, “Lord, please make my hand like the other
one,” and ended up with 2 withered hands.

WOW Jan,
What do you think you are going to do? Are you going to see about being put
on the transplant list? This must be a heavy decision to make. You do not
need dialysis at this point, Do you? Oh My….my head is spinning….how is
YOUR head????

Jan, I am having the same thoughts as Christine. I am praying for you as are
the others. I really love this list and feel close to everyone on it. I was
trying to explain how it feels to have this disease to one of my closest
friends who has watched me go through some of the challenges associated with
diabetes. I am only a type 2 even though I have known since I was 21 that I
have had this disease, I can’t even imagine having had it since a young
child. My love and thoughts are with you right now with your foot and your
decision and just know I am here for you my friend. I have not really been
talkative lately my family has just been staying sick with this stuff, the
weather is hot one day and freezing the next and I am just trying to keep
from really getting down. I do wish I was closer to you because I would be
there to help no question about it. Right now all I can give is my cyber
help and support. Tons of hugs Shelia
