Gail,
I had a 506 for 6 years, then it died. Have a 507c since 3/99. BUT, don’t
worry about changing to another one. If yours should fail, I believe you
would be able to get a 507 or 507c. The basic difference in this one and the
one before is the color of case and more bells and whistles. The Act and Sel
buttons are basically the same with slight differences. Slight enough that
it would not be difficult for you to catch on. I don’t know how to use the
square wave bolus or dual wave bolus. It’s like a suped-up car - I just
drive it down the road (fast). You don’t have to use cruise and shift and
all that stuff. From what I understand about the 508, I believe that one
would be difficult for you to use. I’m not interested.
As I have mentioned before, I’m going to ask God how animals think without a
language. That is great and an added blessing. I would say at this point,
and I know brain function isn’t sharp with a hypo, but trust your dog and
test. Do you keep glucose at your bedside? I do, and since I’m alone I feel

it’s necessary. But, when I drop, my brain says I must get to the kitchen
for something and forget I have it right there!
