Veggie Carbs

Found this old post:
Christine,
I guess what confused me on your diet was your lack of carbs. But now that
you say you eat veggies and don’t overload on protein, I wonder if you
realize veggies ARE mostly carbs. One half cup of veggies on the ADA list is
5g carb and 2g protein. You may be injesting a lot more carbs than you
realize. Since food is made up of carbohydrate, protein, and fat that means
if there is no carb nor protein, it is fat. The only fat in the veggie list
would be what is added (butter, sauce, etc.)
I think you mean *lots of veggies for the carbs* — not *in place of.*

You are right, Jan, I do mean lots of veggies FOR the carbs. But I don’t eat
peas or corn and I only eat a limited amount of carrots. I really miss peas
and I think I will have them soon instead of my 1/2 baked potato once a week.
I think you might be feeling a wee bit better (or so bored) to be on the
puter. I hope so….I missed you.
