Nap!! I’m still reading my messages and another one with 25 messages inside
just came in. I’m expecting my hugsband to call momentarily for me to pick
hip up for a few hours again tonight. About the time I’d shut my eyes –
he’ll call.

I pray that your issued is resolved smoothly. I do not post that much,
but I try to read all posts through digest. Please, dont take this
wrong, but I would stop and find a way to resolve it so that both you
and the school can take ownership of the best outcome.
Your daughter is young and I would not want her to resented by any of
the school staff. My daughter is 12 now and has been diabetic 1 1/2
years. Luckily our school nurse has past experience with diabetes and
the school has worked with us. I send a sack lunch with her and supply
all her snacks. I find that easier than trying to count the school
lunch carbs. Also that way I know exactly what she is suppose to eat.
I contacted our state health department and a person from there went to
her school and gave an educational presentation to her class mates and
teacher.
Life with diabetes is difficult for me, mostly because my daughter has
to prick her fingers and take the shots and feel the lows and the highs.

failure to send notices

Monday, September 12th, 2005

Babbette:
I can’t help you with the problems at the school, but I do hope that
some one gets on the nurses case and get this resolved. Contact the
local board of health about this and they might be able to help.
When you send a message to the list be aware that the address is case
sensitive and should read diabetics@onelist.com or onelist will not
recognize the address and reject it.
Hope this helps.

Hey everyone

Sunday, September 11th, 2005

Hey how is everyone? I am online checking my mail. I am trying to get sick
I think. My throat is sore and my head hurts. I think I will take a hot
bath and take some meds and go to bed. I hate being sick. I have so much to
do and being sick does not get it done. I’ve missed you guys. Its good to
hear from you Iris. I truly hope you are on the road to recovery. As for Ms
Jan as well. Hello Christine, I started my diet a few weeks ago and doing
fine so far. What do you do. I am finding it challenging to keep up with
fat and carbs. I have lost 13 pounds since New Years and I think that is
good, I started the spa but boy do I have to motivate myself to get there.
Once I am there I am fine it is just getting there. Hi Gail and Becki hope
this post finds you ladies well. Last and not least Hello Marius, we missed
you while you were on holiday. Sounds like you guys had a blast on your
trip. I really enjoyed your post about your adventures, I shared them with
my mom and 10 yr old nephew who had the map out locating Africa. He does
really well in school and is in advance classes. Well I am going to finish

When do you have to go back to the Dr. Iris. If you don’t have a follow-up
appointment I think you need to make one. After finishing the antibiotics you
should be feeling better. So I think a follow-up is called for. Just me,
butting in!
Feel better,
Christine

Babette, I really am shocked after living in Minnesota most of my life
and seeing what they do for the elderly and handicapped I think you are
in a district that needs to be informed. What part of minnesota is your
home? I have a friend in Minnetonka whose daughter is downs and she gets
lots of help. As for your daughter’s lunch you can start to educate her
about her eatting pattern and even if she was high one time it would not
be the end of the world. If she was shaking i too would have been angry
with the nurse because that can be life threatening. She should have
been able to test her sugars and you could have an approved snack there
that she could have taken. I know that my daughter had some medical
problems not diabetes but I made a real fuss and now it is dealt with on
a more informed bases. Sometimes you have to be the squeaky wheel. I
hope that this might help a little. Right now I am fighting my daughter
because she does not want to look like a nerd and get help in math so we
are not in agreement of how things should be done and she is not 15. It
