[diabetics] I’m gettin’ smart-er
Can you tell me how to get my spell checker enable on my toolbar? Cut, Copy,
Paste, and Spelling are gray. When I drag over something Cut, Copy, are
activated, then Paste is. I don’t know how to get Spelling to work!! I’m
trying to get literate-er. I use Outlook Express/Internet Explorer.

I think *HE* wants to know what state we live in now so he can keep up with
what’s happening via CNN, etc. Aren’t you Type 2? When was dx?
Jan
Sorry, I misread the post. I live in Texas about 90 miles from where I was
born. I was dx’’s when I was 23 right after the birth of my only child, who
is now 18. I am a type 2. Shelia

Babs chat

Monday, November 28th, 2005

Babs,
I see what I did wrong and why I had to make a new alias each time. I did
not leave correctly. Because my writing is so big, I do not have all the
screen on my screen. I have closed with Gail 1 but the other two are still
there (Gail and GD). If you could explain how I will close them out too.

Rx delivery

Friday, November 25th, 2005

Thanks, Gail,
I’m going to request that ALL my Rx deliveries require a signature. I’m not
even too sure about the temp inside the back of a FedEx, UPS, or P.O. truck.
The summer sun would certainly heat the inside of an open truck. Also, the
cold would be inside, too. Those doors are mostly open, maybe heating the
driver - no airconditioning though. My deliveries come from Texas to
northern Indiana. Quite a temp diff.

I’m gettin’ smart-er

Since M put out his request of birthdates and states; and my addition of
type and dx date, I’ve decided to make a Cheat Sheet and log who/when/where
on it so I can recall who we are better.
I see Denise and Lisa are only a couple months apart in age. 8^)
I’m almost old enough to be the mother of the women here, except for Becki
and Gail. I have had T-1 since before Gail was born!! - well most of the
rest of you, too. EXCEPT for the Cap’n.

My Life (if you can call it a life!)

Thursday, November 24th, 2005

Hi Gang,
I am sorry I have been out of things lately. My oldest son, 15, has been in a
heap of trouble once again. He is now in Juvenile Detention and I can’t begin
to explain the stress. My BG has been bouncing around and they are high for
me each morning. The Diabetes doc says they will come downagain when some of
the stress is relieved. Okay…when will that be????
I hope everyone is feeling well or better at least. I went to sign in at the
chat room this am and I can’t get back in unless I rejoin. So now there is a
Christine and a Christine 2 on the chat list. HELP!
HUGS<

Lisa,
Have you tried any R or H in conjunction with the NPH? Humalog (Lispro)
begins working within 5-15 min. and is done in 1-2 hours. There has to be a
way to keep your BGs from the rollercoaster ride you have been on. There are
many Type 2’s who now pump also. It has stabilized them greatly.

depression

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2005

Many of you know I write poems. I have one titled, Designed By Non-Users.
That is how I feel about so many of these *ministers* who believe depression
and suicide are only self pity. They ain’t been there or done that. Even as
a kid of 11 I wanted to die so bad because I thought that was all that was
left for me since I wasn’t getting any better. Survival of the coma has
proven otherwise.
W.o.W. (word of wisdom): I hear many people talk about empathy when I
believe they mean compassion. Empathy is when you’ve been in a similar
situation and have an inner understanding. i.e. Your shoes may be red and
mine may be blue, but they are still shoes. Each one of the *juvenile*
diabetics on this list has a story; however, they are different stories in
their similarities. Compassion is a deep inner feeling for another. They
sell sympathy cards (feel sorry for), not empathy cards nor compassion
cards.
I don’t want pity, I want understanding for my situation.
