All I want … is a pump!
diabetologist.
Connie,
#1 I’m learning more about HbA1c’s. Maybe Iris or Karyd or someone else can
set me *straighter,* there’s perhaps 2 diff kinds (an HgbA1c), but for
instance if you have a 50 BG and a 200 it averages out to 125 and that’s
*perfect* — NOT!! But your dr. may see it that way.
#2 About another baby. IT’S NOT MY PLACE TO BUTT IN - but (pardon the pun)
since you are Type 1 and Irv is Type 2 and there are lots of DMers in your
family(ies), you might want to consider what kind of life would be predicted
for another baby. For decades they have said a cure is around the corner –
just seems to be so many corners!!! Until that time of reality, this ain’t
no fun of a lifestyle. 8^(
#3 (P.S.#2) Make sure the endo you are referred to is pump friendly. Being
an endo is not an automatic. Pursue it until you are satisfied the new dr.
IS pump friendly or it will get you nowhere. Some PCPs are pump friendly and
are even willing to learn along with a patient.
dr. (for the newbies, I’m NOT a real doctor so that can’t be capitalized)

Connie, you say that you want another baby….why not look into
adoption. I have an adopted child and a biological and love them both
the same. They are terrific kids…there are so many kids out there that
need people like you. How does your family feel about adoption esp. your
hubby. My oldest says now well, at least mom I won’t have your genes if
it is inherited to have diabetes tee hee….so many be this is the answer
to your desire. It is a great way to add love your family. It is not
easy to adopt and not cheap but it is worth every cent. Becki
