Hey everyone,
after I’ve posted the letter to the regional newspaper, I received a
phone call this morning from the hospital matron. Seems that
management knows not what their staff is doing and they are
calling for police investigation re: my mom’s ring.
Letter follows.

Dear Sir,
My mother, an old age pensioner living in Sunwich Port, had a
heart attack in her house on the 14th of November and would have
died if not for the prompt assistance of the following people;
Dr Beyleveld who was at the scene within minutes and attending
paramedics, Mrs Ethel Jones and Maria Botha. Through your
illustrious newspaper I would like to thank these people for their
help and support. Without them my mother would not have been
here today.
To the medical staff member of the Port Shepstone Provincial
Hospital who stole my mothers diamond rings off her finger and
later denying everything despite being identified, just this;
You have stolen from an old person, telling her that you have to
remove the rings for x-ray purposes to her chest. You forced the
rings from her finger with the curtains drawn around her bed, thinking
that because she was semi conscious she would forget, but
NKULUNKULU NGALALA.GOD NEVER SLEEPS!!
I suppose this sort of thing would be expected in the new south
africa and I will ensure that all my friends abroad, all of them
potential tourists, will be made aware of this countrys hospitality.
Thank you
Marius Calitz.

    I have been asked to apply for a post at medium mill, it’s an
    internal transfer to a higher grading with more money, dayshift job
    only and it’s a suprvisory post.
    I turned it down for a few reasons. I don’t want to add to the stress
    that I already have here, that job has ten times more stress.
    I DON’T want to work dayshift only…not nice.
    I WON’T BE ABLE TO E-MAIL MY E-PALS!!

    SIR M.
    Good for you for turning that down. Some people think why would anyone
    turn down more money? I wish I had been as smart as you. I took the
    supervisor job and am very stressed at this time. I have considered
    withdrawing from the position if it doesn’t get better.
