 &#60;&#60; Shelia, I am not an authority on this, but I think the honeymoon period is
 the first year or so after dx of diab. During this time things go smoothly
 because your pancreas is still producing some insulin on demand. At times
 symptom of diab. seem to disappear. But unfortunately they come back and
 even stronger because the pancreas finally shuts down for good. This can be
 in weeks, months or years.

 Ohhhhh, well I was diagnoised when I was 23 but to this day they were
 confused as to whether I was a type 1 or 2. I was so out of control when
 they finally dx me that it was my bgyn who said I had diabetes and sent me to
 Houston and it was confirmed. I am now 41 and just now under control. I had
 a series of not so good doctors. My doctor in Houston who is from SOUTH
 AFRICA has really helped me alot. The feeling is that I was diabetic as a
 &lt;!--more--&gt;
 kid and no one picked up on it. So I had often came across doctors not
 knowing what to do with me. I did go through a big denial time at least a
 two year period. But I did also experience a time after having my
 hysterectomy of no symptoms. My body was under so much stress from the trama
 of my female problems that it is most likely why I had so many high bgs. So
 that make sense that things would seem more normal when I got rid of the bad
 stuff. Oh well I have babbled enough LOL !! Hugs Shelia</description>
