MEETING & pump
CONNIE,
If YOU have ANY say-so, Please, please, please, hold off on the snow for the
weekend. I want the 150 miles worth of roads to all be clear between here
and there. We have had many predictions that have bypassed us. Maybe that
will change for you Sat. (and us). We’re going to Fort Wayne for our
granddaughters’s FIRST BIRTHDAY Saturday (2/12). Ohhh, but we’re having
fun - do you see that time flying??
MORE BIG advantages: adjust the basal if needed (continuous rate delivered
my a MiniMed pump in 1/10-unit increments) over a period of time; AND/OR
give any size bolus (spurt all at once like a shot) when needed. Using
Humalog means it begins working in 5-15 minutes. That’s why you eat when you
want - bolus = eat. No bolus = no eat. I have always said that when you
inject NPH in of a morning and your plans change later, there is NO WAY to
suck it back out. You live by the peaking of the NPH. The pump is tweaked as
needed. 8^) It’s like a new baby = it’s not perfect, but you love it
anyway.
