Welcome, Jim
We are a *looney* bunch of *sweet* people on this list - or the parent of a
sweet person. We are also an international group. Our list owner, Iris, is
from Canada; we have others from Canada; a teenager, Sarah Fish is from
Australia; another teenager, Courtney Collins, who I believe is from Ireland
but we haven’t heard from her for awhile; and certainly NOT least, Marius
Calitz from South Africa. I’m sure he will respond, including forwarding
this post with my words adjusted to his betterment. Watch out for him; he’ll
tell you *wonderful* things about himself that are mostly prevaricated. Then
there is a large group of us from USA, some from warmer parts and some
from colder-to-cooler parts. I’m from the northern part of Indiana and am
called w.O.w.
Marius, or M, or SIR (he wants us to stand at attention out of respect when
we type that - in all caps) says I’m the wisest person HE knows (he must not
know many) including that Chinese philosopher, Confusion. Thus, wise OLD
woman because I’m just about the oldest person on this list (turned 60 last
May). He also calls me *Jan, ol’ Biddy* so sometimes I sign Jo’B, or I may
sign dr. Jan because I rant and rave about the care of himself (which is
below par) and I’m not a real doctor and that cannot be capitalized, or I
may *preach* and am rev. Jan. I may even give *psychological* advice so I’m
psych-O Jan. That, too, cannot be capitalized since I’m not a real
psychologist and it doesn’t seem right to leave off the *o* and it doesn’t
seem right to
connect it and leave it lower-case.
Have I thoroughly confused you so far? I’m also a.u. because *author
unknown* is necessary if I don’t want to sign my *real* name to something
stupid I have said. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes during a
coma when I was 11.5 on Nov. 5, 1950. I am using my 4th insulin pump - a
MiniMed 507c, Blue, named Pumpkin infusing Humalog (Lispro) insulin. I’ve
been married 39+ years to the same hugsband, have 2 natural children and 4
grandchildren.
ALL the above (shortened version) sort of explains our *looniness.* Having a
sense of humor (SOH) is NOT necessary to be on this list, but you’ll lose
out if you don’t.
We go wayyyyy off topic (OT) many times. We stay on
topic often. We laugh, share, laugh, learn, laugh, and yes, cry often
together.
Personally, I would rather laugh because it’s too easy to cry at the type of
an @.
Ask questions and if anyone is *capable* to offer suggestions, we try our
best. We, of course, are not medical professionals (unless they’re lurkers)
and just like to share what we have learned and/or experienced.
Just Jan
