“I’M GOING FISHING”
Translated:* I’m going to drink myself dangerously stupid, and stand by a
stream with a stick in my hand, while the fish swim by in complete safety.”
“IT’S A GUY THING”
Translated:* “There is no rational thought pattern connected with it, and
you have no chance at all of making it logical”.
“CAN I HELP WITH DINNER?”
Translated:* “Why isn’t it already on the table?”
“UH HUH”, “SURE, HONEY”, OR “YES, DEAR”
Translated:* Absolutely nothing. It’s a conditioned response.
“IT WOULD TAKE TOO LONG TO EXPLAIN”
Translated:* “I have no idea how it works.”
“I WAS LISTENING TO YOU. IT’S JUST THAT I HAVE THINGS ON MY MIND.”
Translated:* “I was wondering if that redhead over there is wearing a bra.”
“TAKE A BREAK HONEY, YOU’RE WORKING TOO HARD”.

missed the funeral

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

Some people live by “What will others think.” Then there are occasions when
it is wise to just step back. I believe your situation is one of the
occasions when it is wise to just step back and “withdraw thy foot from thy
neighbors doorstep.” It is wise to not compromise your marriage by consoling
“thy neighbor’s wife.” And not giving fodder to gossip.

CAT scan

Monday, May 22nd, 2006

When my son fell off the roof 9/27 he asked if they found any cats in his
CAT scan. Did they find any in you? BTW, he went back to work (limited)
last week!!!
But, take your left hand in your right hand and pretend it’s me holding
your fragile hand all day. ;) consoling Jan

up but not awake

Monday, May 22nd, 2006

I *slightly* woke up at 5:30 a.m. and realized I missed a funeral yesterday.
It was for a lady who joined our church the same day we did several months
ago. She’s since moved and her brother died. The funeral home is about 2
miles east of our house; I had been west and got home at 2:00. The service
was at 2:00 but I probably could have busted my rear and made it a point to
be there for her. :( Jan

Valentine’s Day

The point, my dear, is to have your BG within range. I think Iris uses a
*pen* and probably could have taken the insulin at the same time as the
goody so they work together. If I recall, your BG is hardly ever a
one-digiter. ;) dr. Jan

YEP!

Ouch!

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

That was not required to be initiated into our group! However, many of us do
fall. I recently learned that this 60-y/o can no longer put her foot in the
sink! ;) Jan

Welcome, Jim

We are a *looney* bunch of *sweet* people on this list - or the parent of a
sweet person. We are also an international group. Our list owner, Iris, is
from Canada; we have others from Canada; a teenager, Sarah Fish is from
Australia; another teenager, Courtney Collins, who I believe is from Ireland
but we haven’t heard from her for awhile; and certainly NOT least, Marius
Calitz from South Africa. I’m sure he will respond, including forwarding
this post with my words adjusted to his betterment. Watch out for him; he’ll
tell you *wonderful* things about himself that are mostly prevaricated. Then
there is a large group of us from USA, some from warmer parts and some
from colder-to-cooler parts. I’m from the northern part of Indiana and am
called w.O.w.
Marius, or M, or SIR (he wants us to stand at attention out of respect when
we type that - in all caps) says I’m the wisest person HE knows (he must not
know many) including that Chinese philosopher, Confusion. Thus, wise OLD
woman because I’m just about the oldest person on this list (turned 60 last
