Tampa

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006

Becki,
So good to see you back! I hope you had a good time in Arizona! I just
wanted to let you know that I’m coming to Tampa (Jan, I finally looked it up
on a map!) at the end of the month. My best friend is a NICU nurse in SC and
is going to a medical conference in Tampa. She didn’t want to go alone so
asked me to come with her. If it works out, it would be great to get to meet
you! The dates are Mar 27 to Apr 2. Lynn’s conference is that Tues., Wed.
and Thurs. until about 2:30 or so but we’re staying for the weekend to have
some fun.

Endo’s feelings about my (future) KPTX

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006

Had my endo appointment today. I think I should charge HIM. He thoroughly
encouraged me to go for the KPTX. (The nephrologist is handling the
details.) He said I’d be a success story and they like that. If I wait until
I’m on dialysis to get listed, I may be too far gone by the time I’d get the
organs - and I’d be older. He also wants me to take notes for him at the
informational meeting so he’ll know what it’s about. No changes in my care,
no Q’s, or any stuff. { 8^) } He did listen to my heart and feel my throat.
I forgot to take my shoes off for foot check!

Babs,
Loved your Easter Bunny joke. Don’t know if it helped anyone else, but gave
me a laugh.

From Dr. Joe, the Diabetes Doctor

Monday, July 24th, 2006

Thought I’d pass this tidbit on from Dr. Joe:
Did you know…
The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufactures of America
September report said …
11 new medicines for diabetes have been developed in the past
10 years.
At least 19 additional medicines are in the pipeline.

What a wonderful new meaning for ASAP.
There’s work to do, deadlines to meet, you’ve got no time to spare, but
as you hurry and scurry, always say a prayer.
In the midst of family chaos, “quality time” is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest: always say a prayer.
It may seem like your worries are more than you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather - always say a prayer.
God knows how stressful life is; He wants to ease our cares, and He’ll
respond a.s.a.p. - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER
Worry is like a rocking chair - it gives you something to do…but
doesn’t get you anywhere!

Connie,
Do you remember how I sent the pics of Pinocchio; you, J’anne, and me; and
Mr. & Mrs. Jan? I gave them to YOU and you did it. hahaha Well, I met
another ‘netter (on a pump list) from Terre Haute (a newspaper editor) up
here and gave that pump pic to her and she put it on. I just hit *forward*
and it worked.
The stoooopid things I’m concerned about with the booklet are missing
someone on my list of acknowledgements, an important memory, etc. Even Mr.
Jan won’t be THAT aware of those things - it’s up to me. I get anxious to
get it completed, but in the next seven months I know something will *hit*
me. Then it will have to be done over. I guess I should practice patience.

My scanner is hooked up. Son’s POSSLQ did it at Christmas without me
looking. I don’t know what she did and I can’t find the instruction book.
It does me no good.
