a couple *small* blessings

I spent an hour in painful Xrays. A couple blessings I’m thankful for today:
That permanent handicapped parking card the footologist issued to me last
December and I thought was unneccessary.
Handicap parking spots
My right foot is operable to brake and accelerate (not necessarily in that
order).
I should find out the results of the tests in a couple of days. In 2 days we
go to Chicago (that’s a couple of days).
I hurt. Waiting to hear from neph about the pain narcotics to see if I
should take them.

    Jan,
You mean you have to wait a couple days to hear about your x-rays?
It hubby going to Chicago with you?
Did they give you no indication what they thought was wrong?
Sorry about all the questions, but I can’t help it, I worry about you.

It’s 6:30 p.m. and I haven’t heard back from neph YET (before noon) if I can
take those pain pills. I’m hurting. Bad. Mr. Jan is coming home in about 45
min. Hope I don’t have to pick him up. I can’t. Just woke up from nap.
I’m going to stay off of here for a couple of hours until neph calls.

    Hi Gang,
I have been reading as many posts as time has allowed. I haven’t had time to
post but I just wanted to say Hi and I hope things are better for you Jan.
Between you and Gail, there has been enough pain! I hope all is well with
everyone else on the list. I am enjoying my time with my family but this is
the first time I can say I want to go home already.
I will be leaving to head home either Thurs night or Fri morning. Stay well
and I will talk to you all soon.
    Hugs,
    Christine

    Christine,
Glad you arrived safely - return that way, please.
I HAD to take 2 of those pills — it’s almost 8:30 p.m. and still have had
no call back from neph. Napped over an hour, left the door open so I’d hear
the phone in the other room. I keep the ringer turned off in the bedroom
’cause I often get calls in the middle of the night that wake me up and
can’t get back to sleep (wrong numbers, of course). I heard the phone ring
and it was Mr. Jan (he’d called a half-hour earlier and I never heard it. He
unhooked and drove the tractor home for a few hours. We’re getting dinner
ready now. The pills seem to have diminished the pain somewhat, but I really
was prepared to be hospitalized yesterday.
Something I didn’t mention in my *blessings* was that we have the groaning
mechanism to relieve us of some misery. Even though there are no ears to
hear, it’s still necessary to utter those groanings. The two young women
X-ray techs were so very nice to me. I told them I just needed the

attention - that’s what Mom thinks. Sure is an expensive and painful way to
get attention!! Of course, mom doesn’t even know what I go through.
