AAAAARGH!
Iris,
Is Humalog (Lispro) available in Canada? It starts working in 5-15 minutes
and is out in 4-6 hours. Much faster than Regular. I know of many who are
on 4 or more shots a day using H, and then a shot or two of Ultra Lente
which is extremely long-acting. It’s called *the poor man’s pump.* That way
you are covering what you eat when you eat and playing to the whims of NPH.

*Cheat* is a naughty word. It should be *take liberties.* A non-DMer’s
pancreas secretes insulin to cover the food eaten. So, why can’t a DMer on
insulin cover the food eaten. That’s what’s so nice about the *P* word. (For
those of you who don’t know - it’s Pump.)
