Babs,
You are not as new as YOU feel. We value your wisdom, input, humor,
experience, and whatever else I forgot to say. We do not like for you to be
quiet and suffer your headaches alone. Your words that you feel need to be
said are a necessary part of this list - let those who want to lurk just
lurk and miss out. But without posts this list dies.
You are learning about DM, therefore, your education is valuable to someone
who may not have the same advantage you have. It’s like when my 7-y/o took
piano lessons and I was 29. I took lessons right beside her because I wanted
to learn as a REAL beginner - not as an adult that might know something (of
course, I got soooo good I quit because I didn’t want to make dau feel bad
<gr
and lunch intake has not changed, but my insulin dosages (boluses) have been
reversed in the last year or two.
I know the Canadian healthcare system is different than ours. Therefore,
what we have available in the USA may not be readily available there. New
techniques and ideas are developing. Someone who has had decades of
experience may not realize the information that has been updated for our
betterment. MDI (Multiple Daily Injections) with a very long-acting insulin
and short-acting offers better control. After 16.5 years of pumping, I have
learned MUCH off a pump list that I did not know and now know there is a LOT
I need to learn and readjust.
So, Babsie, dear, TALK. {{{{{}}}}}
amen,

P.S. Waiting to hear back from Mia.

Well thats good to hear!!
I think you had us all worried you were starving and wasting away!!
I was so quick to respond the first time I forgot to take off the rich

Glad to hear you eat : ) Do hope you get your numbers under control, it
sure is frustrating to fight them!

Babs,
I’m here, you’re there, and Iris is very distant from us — BUT *I* detect a
*slight* coverup in her statement. Since she has said it’s difficult to
clean and to do any exercise because of the pain, I *think* she’s not
getting any exercise and therefore not eating. I’m an old lady reading
between the lines. If I’m wrong, shouldn’t be any harm done because we care.
If I’m right, she needs to be on a FOOD (plural) schedule, not this OR that,
but *AND.* (Iris, are you listening?) It’s almost lunchtime there now. What
are you having today?

I hope you have some milk with that lunch to balance it out. You need more
calcium than just the cheese, plus all the nutrients. Sounds pretty healthy
othewise.
