Out of lurking for Iris

Good luck on your computer
I do hope you increase your food intake. Did you say you ate an orange
for lunch?
Usually if Jessica has an orange it is because she is having a low. And
then if it is lunch time she has her normal lunch. I couldn’t imagine
she would have much energy if she didn”t eat a well balanced diet.
While I understand that everybody is different, I do wish you would
have more food.
For my daughter we have so many carbs and so much meat and vegies to
eat. A balanced diet and the amount of insulin is based on her intake
of food and weight. Most of the time we have a good handle on it.
Right now we have to eat the same time each day and measure the amounts
of food. She checks her blood 4 times daily (sometimes more) and has a
shot 3 times, sometimes 4 if her number at lunch it high. We are
working on getting the pump, perhaps in April. I am not sure about the

type of insulin you take. But we use Humilin and Humalog. Mixed (26
Humiln and 6 humalog) in the morning and 6 humalog at supper and 16
humilin at bedtime.
Have a good evening Janet
