Some days I am just amazed at what can be done through the internet!
I’ve been looking for a particular book of cross stitched Christmas
stockings. When Julianne was a baby a local cross stitch store in NC
was supposed to order it for me but never did.
I decided yesterday that I wanted to try to find it on-line.
Unfortunately I didn’t even know the title of the book. The publisher
(Meredith/Better Homes & Gardens) was no help. (Although, I did find a
woman who would send me a copy of a chart from a magazine I lost.)
The title was found through Amazon.com, but the book was published in
1995 and was out of print. Did I really want to try to order it and
wait for who knows how long and pay who knows how much? Not really.
Library! It is nice living in a big city with a large library system
with it’s catalog on-line. I found the book. There are two copies at
the central library downtown Indy. I don’t want to drive downtown.
Hmmmmm. Put the book on hold to be picked up at the library branch a

digestion

Thursday, November 16th, 2006

I had a friend who could not digest food very well. She said that sweets
would digest the best. I now that she would eat baby food because that
was easier for her to eat at times when her stomach was acting up. She
said that fats were hard on her because it blocked the digestive system
activities. I know that she would drink slim fast, resourse, etc. to get
her right amount of carbos etc. and it would digest better. Maybe that
would help for your lunch Iris, I do not know. just an idea. Becki

I WOULD HAVE! I’d exchange something or *pump* a little to cover it. I
don’t deprive myself of MY homemade goodies. However, I make very few
homemade goodies because I can resist anything but temptation - and THAT’S
temptation!! ;) Jan

neph call

Sunday, November 12th, 2006

Gail,
I had to apologize to *Sue* first thing when I got her today after being on
hold 20 min. They told me she was with a patient. I said I’d wait. I put it
on speaker and just waited while doing other things to assure me getting
through. Yesterday when she told me to keep after endo’s office, I said I
had to get past people like her - the one’s who answer the phone. I figured
she took it wrong. Years ago I was bawled out by a dr. that I hadn’t called
soon enough and made him miss a flight. I told him I had called - 2x but
couldn’t get through to him. (’62 - in house-call days). So I told her
today after my 20-min. on hold that I didn’t mean her, Sue, I meant those
who had a job like hers - my *first* contact because she has been kinda
quick (turnover is great there so each has to be responsible).
I had to call that dept. to cancel my KPTX info meeting for tomorrow and
they’ll reschedule. They told me not to take which meds. My endo really
doesn’t know which meds. affect the kidneys that much. Neph stays on top of

AAAAARGH!

Saturday, November 11th, 2006

Iris,
Is Humalog (Lispro) available in Canada? It starts working in 5-15 minutes
and is out in 4-6 hours. Much faster than Regular. I know of many who are
on 4 or more shots a day using H, and then a shot or two of Ultra Lente
which is extremely long-acting. It’s called *the poor man’s pump.* That way
you are covering what you eat when you eat and playing to the whims of NPH.
