dindin & snow

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

I just turned on the oven and it takes 25-30 minutes to heat the fish
fillets so it will be another almost 45 min. before I eat. It’s now 6:52
p.m. eSt (that’s STABLE time, ya know), so I’m looking at 7:30 probably.
Mr. Jan is in Ohio and won’t be home ’til quite late. 8^( We’re s’posta go
to Muncie Sunday to see the 7.5 year old who had her tonsils out today. Hope
that snowstorm in North Dakota isn’t going to hit us by then.
BABS, are you getting the snow??

my bone scan

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Good news!! My bone scan turned out *normal.* However, if *normal* means
sleeping in my clothes 4 nights because I couldn’t lift my legs high enough
to get my socks or slacks off, or severe pains just breathing - I don’t like
it. Intend to get the lead test Monday with my quarterly blood draw. I do
think that mug was the cause.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Jennifer Sivils was a healthy mother of three when
suddenly she got a mysterious stomach disorder that literally was
starving her to death. She simply could not hold down any food and
her weight dropped from 157 pounds to 98.
Severe gastroparesis left her stomach unable to churn properly to
move food down the digestive tract. Intravenous nutrition kept her
alive.
But then she got an experimental pacemaker-like device that zapped
her stomach with little electric shocks. She since has regained 22
pounds
and can eat certain foods again.

Thank You!

Greetings from sunny, warm Texas!
What a pleasant surprise to receive all of your birthday cards and messages!
Thank you very much!
Julianne and I are having a great time here thawing out in the sun! Irv went
back to Indianapolis early this morning. He said that they’re expecting snow
there tomorrow. We were expecting close to 90 degree temps here today. He
really didn’t want to hear it!
Last night for my birthday I didn’t even attempt to watch my carbs except to try
to cover with enough insulin. We had a great time. My mom made me a chocolate
cake with chocolate icing and my aunt made a wonderful lemon meringue pie like I
haven’t had since I was a child! We also had some Blue Bell (a Texas icon)
strawberry ice cream.
Well, I need to help fix supper. I plan to go visit the Onelist archives later
to see what’s been going on and will drop a line again soon.
