Jessica’s PUMP
I am so excited. I ordered the pump yesterday. We will have it in a
couple days and be able to Play with it for a little while. I even
called the school nurse, to talk to someone who cared (They didn’t at
work, it doesn’t affect their lives). We start education on Tuesday and
the day to get connected is May 11. So many appointments and a 40 mile
drive. So worth it, I think there is about 10 with the education and
the check ups. Thank God for insurance. The people who are helping
me are so helpful. They should be they will be paid well.
I ordered the Disetronic one in the color blue. with this one we
actually get 2. So if one goes down we always have a back up.
SO HAPPY ….Janet

Janet,
It
Welcome to the world of pumping!! You’ll be so glad you took the step. A
whole new world will be opend to Jessica - freedom with a tether.
will be lots of learning for a month or so, but you’ll get the hang of it
and pretty soon it will be years ago. Do you belong to a pump site also?
There are some great ones for pumpers/parents-friends-relatives/wannabes.
Try www.insulin-pumpers.org
I forget how old she is (10?) but there are teen groups too. There is a
teenage singing group with CDs, The Pump Girls. Also a chat room for Q’s,
etc. Let us know how it goes.

Jessica just turned 13 on the 3rd. I will check out the site you
suggested and I will keep you updated. I like what you said about
pretty soon it will be years ago. How true that statement can be. It
was a year and half ago that we found out she was diabetic and it seems
like we always had this way of life.
Off to bed I go, Have a good night.
