Subject: An Amazing Testimony re Alaska Airlines
Flight 261
To one and all:
John Hernandez (a friend of ours at church) recently shared a
testimony that is so remarkable, and credible, that we feel compelled
to share it with a wider audience
John related that last week he talked with an Alaska Airlines pilot who
is involved in the investigation of the horrific crash of Alaska Flight
261. The pilot has listened to the cockpit voice recorder from the
downed plane and he reported that for the last 9 minutes of the flight,
the wife of the pastor from Monroe, Washington can be heard sharing the
Gospel with the passengers over the planes intercom
system. Just before the final dive into the Pacific Ocean, she can be
heard leading the sinners prayer for salvation.

Marius how are things with your family? I have been out of commission
for a few days so just learning that Wendy is feeling sick. Have they
got her under contol. What did you do with Merredy? Unexpected
hospitalization can be very upsetting to a child. My thoughts and
prayers are with you. It seems like a lot of our list is under the
weather. Is it that time of the year? I just heard from my cousin and
her son was rushed in for brain surgery the end of the week and the tumor
was maligant. He is doing fine has some blurriness of vision but that
can be handled. Also my friend who is in renal failure is at least
getting treatment and felling much better. As she tells me now she can
at least eat as much meat as she want…even steak!!! Good attitude.
Well, I am going to get busy now and get some cleaning done while I am in
the mood. Love you all and have a great holiday. He is risen
indeed!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs Becki

Did I miss it?

Friday, April 13th, 2007

Gail,
I don’t recall (Hillary Syndrome) seeing any messages come through from
Alan. What did I miss or did he privately post you and you forwarded it to
the list? Hardly anything is coming through from the diabetics list or am I
having problems again.
Boy, did we have a hailstorm yesterday. Mr. Jan is on his way home for the
weekend.
Happy Easter, all.
Jan (Hallelujah, He is Risen!!!)

A new oral rehydration solution for the treatment of Cholera
was described in the New England Journal of Medicine
2000:342:308-13.
The standard rehydrating solutions, which in the US are best
known as the athletic performance drinks or electrolyte
replacement drinks. Trade names are Gatorade, Powerade
and the like. We always ask that you keep a couple of bottles
around the home for when illness strikes - it’s tough to get
to the store when diarrhea starts or a queasy stomach
has you in bed.
Diabetes with vomiting and diarrhea does not kill the millions
that cholera does, but the need to have rapid fluid and
electrolyte replacement is just as strong. You will recover
faster and not have to go to the hospital or ER.
All these solutions were developed to drink, not to be taken

FUN WITH WORDS
It is hard to understand how a cemetery raised its burial cost
and blamed it on the cost of living.
We are born naked, wet, and hungry. Then things get worse.
The 50-50-90 rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting
something right, there’s a 90% probability you’ll get it wrong.
It is said that if you line up all the cars in the world end to
end, someone would be stupid enough to try and pass them.
Laughing stock - cattle with a sense of humor.
You can’t have everything, where would you put it?
Latest survey shows that 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the
world’s population.
If the shoe fits, get another one just like it.
Eat right. Stay fit. Die anyway.
The things that come to those that wait may be the things left by

Three guys walking in the desert, a Frenchman, a German and a
Hypochondriac.
After walking for hours, they see a inn in the distance
they stumble into the Inn…
Walk up to the bar…
the Frenchman first… “I’m tired and thirsty, I would like a glass of
wine.”
next the German… “I’m tired and thirsty, I would like a stein of beer.”
next the Hypochondriac… “I’m tired and thirsty, I must be a diabetic!”

Welcome Alan

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Welcome, Alan -
We are a *looney* bunch of *sweet* people on this list - or the parent of a
sweet person. We are also an international group. Our list owner, Iris, is
from Canada; we have others from Canada; a teenager, Sarah Fish is from
Australia; and certainly NOT least, Marius
Calitz from South Africa. I’m sure he will respond, including forwarding
this post with my words adjusted to his betterment. Watch out for him; he’ll
tell you *wonderful* things about himself that are mostly prevaricated. Then
there is a large group of us from USA, some from warmer parts and some
from colder-to-cooler parts. I’m from the northern part of Indiana and am
called w.O.w.
Marius, or M, or SIR (he wants us to stand at attention out of respect when
we type that - in all caps) says I’m the wisest person HE knows (he must not
know many) including that Chinese philosopher, Confusion. Thus, wise OLD
woman because I’m just about the oldest person on this list (will be 61 in

I’ve learned

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

: You can do something in an instant that will
give you heartache for life.
I’ve learned-that it’s taking me a long time to become the person
I want to be.
I’ve learned-that you should always leave loved ones with loving
words. It may be the last time you see them.
I’ve learned-that you can keep going long after you can’t.
I’ve learned-that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how
we feel.
I’ve learned-that either you control your attitude or it controls
you.
I’ve learned-that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship
is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something
else to take its place.
I’ve learned-that heroes are the people who do what has to be done
