going to FL

Becki,
MY reason for not taking advantage of the sun down there is I can’t take
advantage of the sun up here. I simply feel like I will die when the sun is
on me. We have our van windows extra coated and I’m pretty sure I’ll have to
add the same green vinyl that I’ve used for about 27 years to keep it off me
this summer. We haven’t had this vehicle a year yet. Since early ’70s I’ve
carried a child’s umbrella for shade. I can only be outside to do *stuff* in
the evening which gives me about 2 hours when the sun isn’t intense or
bright. I’ve talked to other T-1s that the sun bothers also. We were in
Florida in August of ‘65. Sorry, I wasn’t impressed at all. I also hurt when
I’m cold. Just can’t make me happy. I feel so restricted in anything I can
do. Hope we can get the van’s a/c fixed through our service contract ’cause
I can’t breathe when I’m hot.

Jan, is it that you are so fair that you sunburn quickly. I was a
blonde and I would burn immediately in the sun. Living down here I am
very careful when I go out. Lots of lotion but I still love it. I
really feel better in my joints and muscles when it is warmer. I do not
handle the cold at all. When we lived in the north the last few years I
was miserable. My joint would “freeze” without notice and down I would
go. Florida is really been good for me in that respect. This first year
I thought I would die after living near Lake Superior and if it got to 80
degrees we would almost die of the heat but now we feel cool when the
temp is that low. My family gets warmer than I do. My biggest problem
is that I donot perspire very easily so must drink lots of water.
Dehydration is a problem for all of us. Yes, I do like the air
conditioner in the cars and shops and of course home but you learn to
adjust. Give it another try is early May or late in the fall. It is
such a neat place to explore. Becki

NO PHOBIA - at least of the sun. Don’t fear death - just don’t want it to
happen in the sun if I can avoid it. I’m not on here BTW, just checking my
    e-mail while testing BG: 46

Mr. Jan wanted a blonde, but I had the blackest hair in group pics (100 or
so). School bus driver called me a blackhead. It ain’t cute on the arms and
    legs of a teenage girl! I wanted a black-haired guy at least 6′. I’ll
re-send our pic to you. Mr. Jan burns easily and I don’t think about it
’cause I never did - until he *glows.* I wasn’t taking 11 diff meds in early
’70s to make me sun-sensitive but I do think a half-century of DM has done a
lot of things to me. 8^(
With my kidney dysfunction, the neph told me to drink water only when I’m
    thirsty to overwork them.
Thanks for the offer. I’ll pass. I just plain need a new body.
