If anyone sent messages to the list today please send them again. I am
having a terrible time with my computer. It has wiped out my folders
again. I do not understand why it is doing this. I would appreciate if
you wrote that you would resend them again. i am sorry for the
inconvience but this machince I would like to toss at this moment. I
really am angry after the week I have put in to have this happen when I
get home.

We have discussed this before that Marius will not be back *on* until our
Monday afternoon. His weekend. He calls it 3 days, but we *know* it’s four.
Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun. He left in the wee hours of this morning, therefore,
until Monday afternoon is actually 4.5 days.
Things will be rather quiet while he’s off unless Christine starts giving us
details.

Two responses:
A drip from a straw turns the stick or tape a color to determine glucose in
a drink. Some people don’t think *usually* is sufficient.
On the 2300+ list I’m on they just went through a major thread over drinks
in restaurants. 25% of the canisters were hooked incorrectly. Just because
it says *diet* doesn’t assure one that it IS hooked up to diet. New York
just had a recall on a certain Diet Coke lot number that had Regular Coke
incorrectly bottled in 2-litres. Labels and handles do not mean we’re
getting what they say. That’s why many test the actual drink.

Do you hosts know you have special requirements? When accepting the
invitation, mention that you have some diet restrictions and will bring
something with you that will fit your needs. They may ask you what you need.
That is your opportunity to ask them what they will be serving. Then you can
mention that you would appreciate it if they withhold your portion before
adding sugar, etc. to it. That is acceptable here. I did it lots. I know a
Russian (Ukrainian) lady who was always amazed at our carry-in dinners. They
don’t do that there - never thought of it. But when she’d go back she never
told them about it to start a new tradition. The people just don’t eat
together because it’s too expensive to feed a lot of people.
