Loretta,
It can be frustrating to go in (any dr.) and have them ask you to ________
and it could have already been done. Therefore, I agree with Becki about
calling to have them order an HbA1c (and suggest a c-peptide) NOW so he’ll
have it in hand and not have you get it after the visit and require a return
for that. These other records will really expedite your care. I take 6-10
BGs a day, but being on the pump sometimes requires more due to
circumstances and perhaps a WANTED (as opposed to needed) snack. If you
actively do these things now - time will go much shorter and your visit will
be more fruitful.
And remember, an endocrinologist is just another dr. with a bit more
schooling - intensive training in the matter of endocrine glands of which
the pancreas (and thyroid) is one.
