Diabetes Information

Dear List,
I got my EPO shot and lab test today and the facility was having a health
fair. I was able to teach many of them about pumping. 8^) When I got to the
foot venue the lady said, “You are a diabetic and have a ****** pump (don’t
recall the words she used but sounded like implanted).” I had *never* seen
her before in my life (inside joke w/hugsband).” She even named my endo at
the time and described my checkbook box-sized pump at that time. We’re
talking 3 mos. short of 17 yrs ago! I asked her how she knew. She said she
took care of me in the hosp. - I was there 5-7 days to get pump - and I was
the most compliant DM patient she ever had. She even bragged on me to the
footologist who checked my sensitivity. I passed, 10 out of 10.
Frankly, I think SHE has lost HER memory. Back in ‘83 I was doing visual BGs
and that for just a year. Before that were the pee tests and since the
results were useless, I didn’t do that many. I had neuropathy of my feet and
they burned so much I took naps to escape the pain. I thought amputation was

I can sympathize exactly. Mine was just at the other end of the scope. I
worked in a nursing home and one of the nurses verged on abuse, vocal. I
finally told the administrator I would quit if they didn’t fire her and
that I would let the public know about her. They did have a documented
trail by me and other nurses. Finally they got rid of her. She made
everybodies life miserable, like Rhonda. I know they are just unhappy
people, but they should not be working with people that cannot get away
with them.
Do any of the other workers have vision problems?

Gail, Mike is my new boss. He took over after Brian quit. James was
there then took a leave then came back a month or so before I came on.
We had a girl named Kim there that was hired with me but they transfered
because she was a trouble maker. Then we hired for summer and Rhonda was
summer help that was officially hired in August. She was the best of the
summer help. Then James was second in command over Rhonda and me. The
people over him took that way from him because he was not doing his work.
They also took hrs away and gave them to me and his to me and also put
me in second of command. That was bad because then James resented me.
Rhonda has been bad news from the beginning but because she is pregnant
etc. they are running scared of her because there is no paper trail.
They are afraid that she will sue. The Boys and Girls club hate bad
publicity. It really is not good. I told my boss that if she stays I
leave. I can not work with a person who yells at children all the time
and has no respect for herself or anyone else. I am very frustrated by

Just returned from court……The charges of Abandonment have been
dropped…..case dismissed!!! Praise the Lord!

Hmmmm, sounds like a symptom of high BG in YOUR case!!! My quart-output is
due to nerves to the kidneys relaxing while I sleep allowing the pee to flow
to the bladder.

This is from my neurologist e-friend who responded to my request for no one
to say anything else brilliant because I don’t have room in my BASH booklet.
This shows you how a DOCTOR who has T-1 DM can be treated by medical people.
Gail, I think you can relate. He said he is a p** a** patient and had a
heart attack and stroke last year. This is how things were for him 37 years
ago:
